Sean McNee joined Birchwood as a Senior Vice President and Director of Acquisitions. He is primarily responsible for Birchwood’s overall portfolio growth and investment team performance.
Sean began his career in the seniors housing and care industry in 2001, and developed an all-inclusive understanding of the national seniors housing market over the next two decades by working both on the transactional and operational sides of the industry. His transactional experience includes involvement in the acquisition, disposition, and financing of over 3 billion dollars in total consideration of seniors housing and healthcare properties. His operational experience includes portfolio management and consulting services. Sean’s unique grasp of multiple viewpoints, his thorough understanding of market trends, and his in-depth operational knowledge allows for a comprehensive understanding of the industry. Prior to joining Birchwood, Sean worked in seniors housing investment sales as well as debt and equity placement at Kidder Matthews, Newmark Knight Frank, and Cushman & Wakefield. Prior to that, Sean was a Portfolio Manager at Pacifica Senior Living, where he also assisted with acquisitions, and an Analyst with the National Seniors Housing & Services group at CBRE.
Sean earned his B.B.A. in real estate and finance from the University of San Diego, Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate. Sean is an avid traveler and outdoor enthusiast. In his free time, he enjoys, yoga, backpacking, surfing, and snowboarding.
