Ed serves as a member of the Birchwood Advisory Board. He is a real estate and finance professional with extensive national experience across multiple asset classes and in all phases of real estate investment management. Ed specializes in strategy, market selection, acquisitions, dispositions, development, joint ventures, debt financing, equity capital raising, and portfolio management. He maintains an extensive network of industry relationships, including property owners, developers, debt and equity providers, property brokers, attorneys, advisors, and property managers.
Ed began his career in commercial and investment banking including positions at Merrill Lynch, Kemper Securities, Raymond James and Barnett Bank. He later moved to real estate private equity at Pearlmark Real Estate Partners and Waypoint Residential. At Pearlmark, Ed progressed through multiple positions and founded the company’s multifamily platform serving as Chief Investment Officer. He also served on the company’s investment and management committees. At Waypoint, he served in multiple leadership roles in portfolio management, acquisitions, and dispositions.
Ed received his MBA degree from the University of Chicago and his undergraduate finance degree from the University of South Florida.
